= ETC - IT infrastructure documentation = == Rationale and overview == An overview of the IT infrastructure proposed to facilitate cooperation between EEA and ETCs is described in this document ([attachment:IT_infrastructure_ETC.doc]). == Quick fact sheets == * [wiki:qfs/project_initialization Steps to follow for a project to use the ETC-IT infrastructure] * [wiki:qfs/project_data_delivery Guidelines about the delivery of data to the EEA through the ETC-IT infrastructure] * [wiki:qfs/urls List of URLs of interest] == Types of data hosted in the ETC - IT infrastructure and associated file-based structure == Three types of data have been identified so far and for each of them, dedicated storage areas have been set up with specific usage rules tailored to the data specificities. * Reference data * [wiki:ds/fbs_ref_dataset_definition Guidelines for reference datasets] * [wiki:ds/fbs_ref_dataset File structure for reference datasets] * Project data * [wiki:ds/fbs_project_data_definition Guidelines for project data] * [wiki:ds/fbs_project_data_structure File structure for project data] * Temporary data * [wiki:ds/fbs_temp_data_definition Guidelines for temporary data] * [wiki:ds/fbs_temp_data_structure File structure for temporary data] * Global structure {{{ data [top folder, mount point] == Services == === Documentation services === ==== Wiki ==== Each Topic Centre has access to a wiki space under https://taskman.eionet.europa.eu/ BR Its use should be agreed between the ETC and the EEA project manager. With respect to the ETC-IT infrastructure, the only requirement is to setup one page per project containing a minimal set of information. More details are available [wiki:ds/wiki here]. Wiki formatting syntax is explained [wiki:TracWiki here]. ==== Trac ==== Trac is a ticket system. Each Topic Centre has access to its own trac instance under https://taskman.eionet.europa.eu/ BR Its use should be agreed between the ETC and the EEA project manager. With respect to the ETC-IT infrastructure, the only requirement is to use it for dataset deliveries. More details are provided [wiki:qfs/project_data_delivery here]. A brief introduction to trac is provided [wiki:trac/trac_howto here]. === Geocatalogue === All [wiki:ds/fbs_ref_dataset_definition reference datasets] are listed in a catalogue with proper metadata following the ISO 19115/19139 standard and compliant with Inspire specifications on metadata. The catalogue is available at http://kudu.eea.europa.eu:8080/geonetwork/ BR Please note that the URL may change in future. The [wiki:WikiStart#planning planning] section contains important information related to the geocatalogue. === Data services === ==== File-based access ==== * Access from outside the EEA internal network (via WebDAV over HTTPS) {} * Access from inside the EEA internal network (via CIFS) ==== OGC services ==== Access to some reference datasets will be provided via WMS in the second half 2010. Documentation will be added in due time. === Processing services === Access to a server with ArcGIS installed will be provided in the second half 2010. Documentation will be added in due time. == Contact == For any information or to request a webdav or terminal server access, please send an email to Paul Hasenohr (email address following the EEA template). == Planning == We plan to select and list most of the reference datasets in June in order to provide access to the reference dataset area in the first half of July. A provisional planning is available [wiki:planning here].Go to top
