The EU Open Data Hub is open!

Added by Søren Roug about 4 years ago

The European Commission has launched the Open Data Hub. EEA has 106 datasets registered so far. The greatest potential is the SPARQL endpoint even though it doesn't have that much data yet. Like at EEA, it is based on Virtuoso.

To try some queries, go to http://open-data.europa.eu/open-data/sparql and copy-paste the following.

Funded projects (where amount is under 1 million euros) by year:

PREFIX rdfs: <http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#>
PREFIX fp7: <http://fp7-pp.publicdata.eu/ontology/>

SELECT ?year ?project_id ?project_name ?organization sum(?amount) as ?totalFunding
WHERE {
  ?project_id a fp7:Project;
              rdfs:label ?project_name;
              fp7:year ?year;
              fp7:funding ?funded.
      ?funded fp7:amount ?amount;
              rdfs:label ?organization .
      }

GROUP BY ?year ?organization ?project_id ?project_name
HAVING sum(?amount)  < 1000000
ORDER by DESC 1
LIMIT 200

List of classes:

PREFIX rdfs: <http://www.w3.org/2000/01/rdf-schema#>

SELECT DISTINCT ?class ?label WHERE {
  _:subj a ?class .
  OPTIONAL { ?class rdfs:label ?label }
}
