CIRCA Migration
Steps as of Feb 9^th^: * make a "content" test migration - for "eione_noise" - on archives instance * agree on ID, Title and Server location (projects/forum; "Archive while migrating" will go to archives) of IGs currently in CIRCA

What does a content migration mean?

  • Create a new IG on projects/archives/forum with the same ID in CIRCA or a new agreed ID
  • Save data from Library in CIRCA to Library location in the new IG
  • grant the contact point for IG the local Administrator role, in Administration - Users' management - Eionet
  • create a redirection rule for IG in Apache configuration of EIONET - on Dodo machine
  • notification subscriptions, roles and access rights will not be migrated.
  • by default, access is Public (Anonymous role has `Access content` permission)

What does a archiving mean? It's basically the same as content migration, but on Archives and with restricted access:

  • Create a new IG on Archives with the same ID in CIRCA or a new agreed ID
  • Save data from Library in CIRCA to Library location in the new IG
  • grant the contact point for IG the local Administrator role, in Administration - Users' management - Eionet
  • //View permission// will be restricted to Administrators
  • notification subscriptions and roles will not be migrated.
  • Should we? create a redirection rule for IG in Apache configuration of EIONET - on Dodo machine

What does a content + users migration mean?

  • Create a new IG on projects/archives/forum with the same ID in CIRCA or a new agreed ID
  • Save data from Library in CIRCA to Library location in the new IG
  • migrate local roles and site level roles from CIRCA user roles and ACLs
  • activate portal notifications in IG and migrate notifications from CIRCA
  • grant the contact point for IG the local Administrator role, in Administration - Users' management - Eionet; if not done already by roles migration
  • create a redirection rule for IG in Apache configuration of EIONET - on Dodo machine

ID renaming rules

  • etc, nrc, nfp: always as prefix followed by hyphen
  • single words: separate by hyphen
  • 3/4 words: max number of words used for ID creation
  • only lower case, only letters and digits
